Introduced and / or Pending R.I. Firearms Legislation: If you follow this link Legislation Search and then select Firearms from the Category Drop Down Menu, and then select the ENTER button at the bottom of the page to view submitted or proposed firearms related information. You will open a new window showing all of the proposed legislation related to firearms laws.
It is VERY important to note that these are only PROPOSED and have not gone into the process of even starting to become submitted bills or items that are to be voted on. Please understand how the legal and legislative system works BEFORE taking any action.
It is common practice for various legislators to submit things that have no chance of passing or even making it to a committee for consideration.
Sometimes certain Legislators will submitted filings for the sole purpose of enticing specific groups of people into an irrational frenzy or reaction so that they can then USE that frenzy and irrational and uninformed reaction to push for their real agenda to go forward.
